Troll in the Corner – International D&D Contest

Check it out! Over at Troll in the Corner they’re doing a crazy D&D contest. You could win the Red Box, Rules Compendium, Heroes of the Fallen Lands and some Dungeon Tiles! All you have to do is shoot them an email. However, if you want more entries into the competition you can tweet about it, blog about it, and post on the Gamer’s Haven forums to net yourself some additional entries into the contest. Best thing is: it’s not limited to America! If the US can ship to you, you can enter.

Tweets of Doom

Inspired by Critical Bits, I thought now that Vam and I have started tweeting I would post here each Sunday with a summary of the week’s tweets. I find that stuff can get pretty easily lost on Twitter and I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. These posts should be a way to get the information we’ve tweeted across to readers of Pyres who don’t read Twitter.

Not everything on our Twitter will be RPG related, but most should be and I’ll definitely be tweeting mini plots, npcs, items and so on – in fact, I’ve already some already. I’ll also be posting short thoughts on RPGs that might not be things I would spend a whole post on here. You’ll be able to keep track of what I’m currently interested in, thinking about, reading, watching and playing.

I hope you enjoy our Tweets of Doom!

The Great Twitter Experiment

Alright, so I don’t have an iPhone or anything like that and my Internet connection can be as unstable as a wild mage. Nevertheless, I’m going to try using Twitter to complement this website. Stuff like what’s currently happening at the Project Donut twitter and the sort of thing Gnome Stew and Critical Hits do on theirs. That’s the plan, anyway. We’ll see how it goes. I’m also planning to give Echo Bazaar a go. It looks pretty cool.

You’ll also notice that there’s a brand new Twitter icon up at the top of our site. You can click that to check out my tweets and tweet back at me. I’m also trialling having the twitter feed right here on the site, too. I’ll try to keep Vam away from it, but I think that move is destined to fail. I’ll at least make sure his tweets are tagged with #fromvam so you can indulge in or avoid his madness at your leisure.

WHAT YOU'VE GOTTEN YOURSELF INTO

Pyres of Vam is run by Mockingbard and his alter-ego(maniac) Vam. It focuses on tabletop roleplaying but you'll find other things here too.

Mockingbard loves roleplaying, worldbuilding and stories. He posts setting ideas, session recaps, gamemastery tips and the like for fun, for himself and to get his creativity on.

Vam posts from the villain's point of view: debunking monster myths, providing adventure ideas for villains, and helping fellow villains and dastardly GMs deck out their lairs and complicate the lives of filthy adventurers.

We write this stuff because we like it :) Hopefully you'll find something you like here too.
